A group of tourists is out hiking in the forest, when one man slips down a slope and lands badly, breaking his leg. Meanwhile Jake Langford, a young Ranger trainee, is moving out of his cabin. Just then the phone rings - Jake's father, also a ranger, has a job for him-he is being sent in to rescue the hiking party. But at the top of a hill he looks down and sees the FIRE, already out of control and spreading like wildfire. It's cutting off their escape route. So now Jake has no choice, with the fire closing in on all sides there is only one possible escape-an old mine that may let them escape beneath the fire.
