Gil Blackwell has a normal life in Boston, too normal. The only escape from the monotony of business life is his music. But when his cousin dies in a car accident on the way back from rehearsal, Gil decides to change everything. Escaping his father's disapproval, Gil takes the family's antique truck and leaves the blue-blooded confines of Boston for the promised land of California. Seeking comfort in the road and his music, Gil begins to process his loss. Then a chance encounter brings him face-to-face with an old college flame, Genevieve. Unemployed and ready for a change, Genevieve joins Gil on his trip across the country. With each westward mile, the couple rebuilds their musical aspirations and rediscovers their feelings for each other.
