Richard Treloar is a veteran detective under psychiatric review since the fatal shooting of an informant. Reassigned as curator at the local police museum, Richard discovers the same woman appearing in the background of seemingly unrelated photos from 1960s murder investigations. Determined to make a connection between the images, Richard soon finds his career and his life in serious danger after secretly re-opening the case.
