Gwen (Jade Gordon) is a ruthlessly ambitious young woman who will do anything to secure a position as the next rock goddess. Gwen takes a job ""cleaning house" for Liz (Ally Sheedy), a production designer looking for a New Age love, possibly in the form of record producer Burt (Larry Klein, who also composed Sugar Town's music score). Liz is best friends with former screen ingenue Eva (Rosanna Arquette), the wife of famed Brit Rocker Clive (played by real-life former Duran Duran band member John Taylor). Clive and his bandmates (played by real-life former Power Station and band member Michael Des Barres and former Spandau Ballet band member Martin Kemp) are trying to get a new album off the ground, but find themselves a bit more dated than they thought they were.
