In 1950s Norway, the Home Research Institute has
dispatched social researchers to study the cooking
habits of bachelors. To this outrageously original
promise, director Bent Hamer adds a dash of social
satire and a sprinkling of visual gags to produce
an offbeat look at the human condition.
